The
Cascades
Cascades
Hotel, Sun City…. A cool breeze, a
sultry summer’s day, an exotic cocktail at the sand bar and a
hint of Turkish
music, set the scene for a perfect holiday retreat.
The
Cascades Hotel, the Grotto Restaurant and
the pool area underwent an extensive R60-million refurbishment project,
transforming the 1980’s themed pool area into a tropical
paradise.
The Mediterranean is the deep, blue heart that gives life to the
countries that
surround it. With this in mind, Sun City has transformed the Cascades
Pool and
Grotto Restaurant into an area reminiscent of the azure blue of the
tranquil
Mediterranean. A sophisticated, elegant hotel.
The
original garden area has been transformed
into a lake with cascading waterfalls. The pool deck has been extended
by about
7 metres and the lawn areas have been converted into a sandy beach
complete
with a secluded bathing area and sand bar evocative of Tom
Cruise’s “Cocktail”
movie. Guests can enjoy the ambience complete with bikini’s
and flamboyant
barmen. There is a heated pool, a Jacuzzi pool and children’s
pool.
Sun
City Hotel
The
Sun City Hotel is the hedonistic heart of
the Sun City Resort. The ambience of the Hotel is one of glamour and
sophistication. This hotel which overlooks the internationally
acclaimed Gary
Player Golf Course is abundant in restaurants to fit any
desire.
From
the moment you enter the foyer your
senses are assaulted by the bold design aspects and dramatic setting.
The
central area has been transformed into a jungle of lush foliage,
cascading
water and life-like boulders, encircling fast moving slot
machines. The
hotel's view comprises a magnificent landscape of subtropical gardens
and a
sparkling swimming pool. It has a total of 340 rooms, which either face
the
Gary Player Golf Course or pool area, with gardens stretching down to
Sun
City's exciting Waterworld.
Cabanas
The
refreshing, laid back ambience of the
Cabanas at Sun City is the immediate impression one receives upon
welcome. The
most relaxed and casual of all the hotels at Sun City, the Cabanas
offer
informal yet comfortable accommodation.
The reception area is spacious with a balconied foyer overlooking the
Palm
Terrace. Attractive planters placed around the tiled floor, and the
lightly
textured walls topped with a ceiling frieze of tropical foliage and
flowers,
all contribute to an immediate holiday feeling.
In
fact, when he’s not too busy exploring what
the other pool decks have to offer, guests can spot Figaro, Sun
City’s resident
Blue Crane, strutting his stuff by the Grande Pool Bar.
Sun
City Cabanas offers three dining choices –
the chefs excel at creating imaginative theme style buffets at the Palm
Terrace
and everyday a full breakfast buffet and dinner buffet is offered.
Light and
scrumptious daytime fare is served at the Grande Pool Bar.
A
short stroll across the luscious green lawns
of the Cabanas brings you to a World of Fun in the Sun –
Waterworld. There’s
jet-skiing, windsurfing, water-skiing and for those who want a
leisurely
booze-cruise, there’s a barge to take you around the lake at
Sundowner time.
The
resort is an extended wildlife area where
Vervet Monkeys and Chacma Baboons can still roam freely. They
should
therefore be acknowledged and treated as wild animals. Should
they be fed,
they will lose their natural fear of humans and become aggressive and
dangerous. Guests are requested to assist the resort in
following the easy
guidelines below:
- Do
not feed or tease the monkeys and baboons.
- Keep
all doors and windows locked when vacating your room
- Do
not leave children unsupervised
The
Entertainment Centre
Conference
and banqueting facilities at Sun City are amongst the best in Southern
Africa. Able to host both conferencing and their accommodate
requirements
for large numbers of delegates.
The
main conference session will be taking
place in the Pilanesberg Room, the Exhibition and cocktail function
will be in the
Hall of Treasures and the Gala Dinner will be in the Royal Ballroom
North.
Transport
& Transfers
A
daily scheduled bus service operates from:

you require a transfer from OR Tambo Airport
please contact the conference organise below and this will be organised
for you
at an additional fee, this will be added to your official HASA invoice
which
must be settled prior to the conference.
Within
the Resort
The
Sky Train monorail links a large day
visitor parking area at Sun City’s entrance with the
Entertainment Centre
situated in the middle of the Resort. This train is only
operational on
weekends and public holidays. The service is free of charge.
A
24-hour shuttle bus service is also
available to and from the entrance of the Resort and each hotel within
the
complex, including the Vacation Club.
